Chandra Darshan Timings

The moonrise time on Karva Chauth is set at 8:13 pm. However, the moonrise time may vary slightly depending on the city. Women observing the fast will conclude their fast by offering prayers to the moon.

Karva Chauth Puja Rituals

During the puja, create a clay altar and place idols of Shiva, Parvati, Lord Ganesha, and Kartikeya on it. The fasting story is then recited and special puja materials such as a karwa (water pot), a sieve, a plate, and a lota (water pot) are used. The karwa (earthen pot) holds special significance for offering water to the moon. At the end of the puja, the husband is seen through a sieve, his aarti is performed, and the fast is concluded by receiving water from his hands.

Sacred Mantras For Blessings And Prosperity

The mantras of Karwa Chauth hold deep spiritual significance, invoking blessings of Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, and the Moon. Chanting “Namah Shivayai Sharvanyai Saubhagyam Santati Shubham” ensures marital bliss, fortune, and long life for the husband. The sacred verse “Om Amritandaya Vidamahe Kalarupaya Dhimahi Tatro Somah Prachodayat” calls upon the divine energies of the Moon for health and happiness.

Women also recite “Karkam Kshirsampurna Toypurnamayapi Va Dadami Ratnasamyuktam Chiranjeevatu Me Pati”, offering symbolic water-filled Karva to seek the husband’s longevity and family prosperity. These mantras collectively bless married women with good health, children, grandchildren, beauty, fame, and harmony in their conjugal life.
