Why brinjal Is a Big No During Nautapa: Know the Reason Behind the Summer Warning (X)
New Delhi: Nautapa, which began on Monday, will end on June 2, and it is a significant period in the Hindu calendar. During these nine days of heat, afternoon temperatures can exceed 45 degrees. This phase, which is known as "nine days of heat", begins when the Sun enters the Rohini Nakshatra, marking the peak of summer heat in the country.
Due the extreme heat, it is suggested to practice a specific dietary and routine, which will help to battle with extreme heat. According to experts, the intense heat during this phase can cause several health issues, so it is suggested to avoid certain foods as that can increase the heat in the body and also heavy to digest during summer. To stay healthy, the person needs to include some foods in their diet and avoid many others, including brinjal.
According to Ayurveda, brinjal is considered 'ushna', which means it can increase body heat. It also contains solanine, a compound that, in excess, may trigger inflammation or sensitivities in some people.
Brinjal has a spongy texture that absorbs oil easily when cooked, making it heavier to digest-especially problematic in summer when digestion tends to weaken.
If you include brinjal in your diet during these nine days, it can generate heat in your body, which can lead to many problems.
Consuming vegetable and fruits like watermelon, cucumber, melon, lemonade, seasonal fruits and buttermilk or lassi can be considered beneficial.
