Bihar Assembly Election 2025 Results: The NDA secured a decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly Elections on Friday, winning 202 of the 243 seats as the Election Commission announced results for all constituencies.
The BJP emerged as the largest party with 89 seats, while its ally, the JD(U) led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, won 85 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) led by Union Minister Chirag Paswan captured 19 seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), led by former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi, took five seats, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha under Upendra Kushwaha won four.
Key NDA winners included Deputy Chief Ministers Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, ministers Prem Kumar, Maheshwar Hazari, Sanjay Saraogi, and BJP’s Maithili Thakur.
The NDA has won 202 seats in the Bihar assembly election, while the Mahagathbandhan won 35.
Rahul Gandhi posted on X, “I express my heartfelt gratitude to those millions of voters in Bihar who expressed their trust in the Mahagathbandhan. This result in Bihar is truly surprising. We could not achieve victory in an election that was not fair from the very beginning.
This fight is for the protection of the Constitution and democracy. The Congress Party and the INDIA alliance will deeply review this result and make their efforts to save democracy even more effective.”
Osama Sahab, the son of late gangster and former Siwan MP Mohammed Shahbuddin, has won the Raghunathpur Assembly seat. He won the seat with over 88,000 votes. JDU's Vikash Kumar Singh was the runner-up with 79,000 votes.
“The way the people of Bihar have given victory to Prime Minister Modi and Nitish Kumar, it shows the trust of the people. This is for the future of Bihar, the youth and the farmers... Many, many thanks to the people,” said BJP MP Rajiv Pratap Rudy.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah leaves from the BJP headquarters after meeting the party cadre and senior leaders. The NDA had a historic landslide victory in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025.

The Congress party experienced a tragic loss in the 2025 Bihar assembly elections, winning just six seats despite having fielded candidates in 61 assembly constituencies.
Deputy Chief Minister and BJP’s winning candidate from Lakhisarai, Vijay Kumar Sinha, thanked the people of Lakhisarai and Bihar, saying they had upheld the honour of Biharis. He said the mandate reflected the people’s trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar.
Referring to Tejashwi Yadav’s earlier remark that Sinha would not win, he added that the people of Lakhisarai had not only answered him but also delivered a fitting response through their verdict.
Congress MP Tariq Anwar says, "It is not appropriate that right before the elections, you start depositing money in people's accounts to influence them and get their votes... SIR had an impact too because 65 lakh votes were cut... Bihar is a poor state, and Rs 10,000 is a huge amount for them... In a way, people's votes were being bought... This practice is dangerous for democracy.
Secondly, the Home Minister and Prime Minister raised the issue of infiltrators in Bihar... They tried to create an atmosphere of fear. All these things happened, and the Election Comission didn't say anything. The Election Commission didn't play their role well."
In a post on X in Hindi, Akhilesh Yadav said that the "game" carried out through SIR in Bihar has now been exposed, and that such "election conspiracies" will not be possible in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh or anywhere else.
"We will not allow them to play this game any further," he said. "Like CCTV, our 'PPTV,' or 'PDA (Backwards, Dalit, Minority) Prahari (watchdog)' will remain vigilant and thwart the BJP's plans."
Speaking at the BJP headquarters, PM Modi said: "Even the Congress allies are beginning to understand that the Congress is drowning everyone in its negative politics. That is why, during the Bihar elections, I said that the 'naamdar' of the Congress is practising to drown himself and others in the Bihar elections by taking a dip in the pond.
I have previously warned Congress allies from this very platform. I said that Congress is a liability. Congress is a parasite that wants to make a comeback by swallowing the vote bank of its allies."

We should congratulate NDA, Modi ji and Gyanesh Kumar that they have won Bihar elections with the blessings of Gyanesh Kumar.''
He added, ''In Delhi, 40,000 votes were deleted in Kejriwal sahab's constituency before the elections...If people from other states are going there and voting, then what elections are these? So, these results were already declared. We were just waiting for its declaration today..."
