The Delhi High Court on Friday came down heavily on Arvind Kejriwal for not resigning as the Chief Minister. The court said that Arvind Kejriwal put personal interest over national interest by not resigning as CM after his arrest.

What Delhi High  Court said?

The remarks were made by a Division Bench of Acting Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora. It has been alleged in the petition that due to mutual tussle between the Municipal Corporation, students studying in MCD schools have not been able to get text books and are forced to study in tin sheds.

Acting Chief Justice Justice Manmohan also commented on Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj, saying that he has turned a blind eye to the plight of the students and is shedding crocodile tears. The court made this strong comment when Delhi government's lawyer Shadan Farasat said that he had received instructions from Saurabh Bhardwaj that in the absence of the MCD Standing Committee, the consent of the Chief Minister would be required to delegate powers to an appropriate authority, which Currently in custody.

The High Court said in its comment that the Delhi Government is not at all concerned that students are not going to school or do not have books. You are only interested in power. The court said that the arrogance of power is at its peak here.
