Amarnath Yatra 2026: Advance Registration to Commence on April 15 (X/ANI)

New Delhi: There is a significant positive news for all the devotees across India as registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to commence on April 15 across 554 designated bank branches in India. The registration process will be on a first come, first served basis, as per the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board.

It is to be noted here that the aadhaar-based biometric authentication will be used, and permits will be given through the online process.

As per the guidelines, there is also an age limit for the registration process as only pilgrims between the age group of 13 to 70 years will be eligible. Meanwhile, pregnant women who are more than six weeks into pregnancy are also not allowed to take registration for the pilgrimage.

As per the states website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, “Amarnathji is considered to be one of the major Hindu dhams. The holy cave is the abode of Lord Shiva. The guardian of the absolute, Lord Shiva, the destroyer, is enshrined in the form of an ice lingam in this cave. This lingam is formed naturally and is believed to wax and wane with the moon.” 

Important tips for yatris

  • Those willing to go on yatra and have registered need to collect their RFID card from designated locations. 
  • Yatris need to carry their Aadhaar details in order to collect their RFID card.
  • For the safety and security reasons, yatris need to wear their RFID tag around your neck at all times.
  • Seeing the temperature, yatris are suggested to carry sufficient woollen clothing.
  • Yatris are also required to carry an umbrella, raincoat, and waterproof shoes, due to unpredictable weather in the Yatra area.
