National News: A terrifying blast shook the Amrit Bharat Express traveling from Anand Vihar to Saharsa. It happened near Basti around 2:45 a.m., creating panic inside a coach. Passengers, alarmed by the sudden noise, immediately pulled the chain, bringing the train to a halt. Many rushed to the doors, fearing a bigger danger ahead.
The atmosphere inside quickly turned chaotic, with people crying and shouting in fear. The sound of the explosion was so sharp that even nearby locals rushed to check what had gone wrong. For a few minutes, confusion ruled the tracks.
As soon as the train stopped under the overbridge before Gaur railway station, people started jumping down. The scene resembled a stampede as many ran towards open tracks. Families clutched children in panic, while others desperately tried to distance themselves from the suspected blast site. Railway staff found it difficult to calm passengers in that tense moment.
The fear of another explosion was strong in their minds. With no clear idea of what caused the sound, passengers simply chose to escape. It was only later, after police arrived, that calm slowly returned.
The Gaur police reached the spot quickly after receiving reports of the blast. They moved around the coaches, speaking to frightened passengers and convincing them to reboard. For about 34 minutes, the train stood motionless, its engines silent under the overbridge. Police presence finally gave passengers some sense of security.
Slowly, one by one, people returned to their seats. Only after authorities confirmed no immediate danger did the train proceed toward its next destination. Still, the shaken passengers remained nervous throughout the journey. The sense of fear lingered long after the incident.
Officials later suggested the explosion may have been caused by firecrackers carried by a passenger. This raised serious safety questions, as flammable items are not allowed inside trains. Two passengers reportedly suffered minor burns during the incident. Inspector Pankaj Kumar of Basti GRP confirmed that the case was being probed seriously.
Police are checking whether someone carried fireworks without informing railway staff. If true, strict action could follow. For now, investigators are gathering witness statements to reconstruct what exactly happened inside that coach.
While the blast was unsettling enough, the discovery of a young man’s body near Gaur station added a grim twist. Found on the down track, the man was around 31 years old. GRP officers immediately sealed the spot and began efforts to identify him.
Hours passed but his identity remained unknown. Locals speculated he may have fallen during the stampede inside the train. However, police are cautious, saying there is no proof yet. The body has been sent for postmortem to confirm the cause of death.
Investigators are now exploring whether the death is directly connected to the explosion. If the youth fell during the panic, it would mark a tragic side effect of the chaos. But if unrelated, it raises new questions about what really happened that night.
Was he traveling on the train or walking on the tracks? Did he fall due to panic or for some other reason? These unanswered questions continue to fuel local curiosity. Officials remain tight-lipped as inquiries widen into both the blast and the death.
This incident has raised alarm among frequent train travelers. The thought of explosions inside coaches, even from firecrackers, makes passengers nervous. The sudden death near the same spot has only added to the anxiety. Many are now demanding stricter checks on luggage before boarding long-distance trains.
Railways, already under pressure, may need to tighten rules to prevent such events in the future. For now, authorities are focusing on two urgent tasks-finding the identity of the dead youth and confirming what exactly caused the blast. The answers will decide how passengers view safety on Indian trains.
