National News: Bihar Assembly Elections 2025: The stir in Bihar politics has intensified. A big announcement can be made by the Election Commission soon regarding the assembly elections. According to information received from sources, the election dates may be announced in the second week of October. It is estimated that voting will be conducted in two or three phases in November.

According to sources, counting of votes is possible between 15 and 20 November. At the same time, after SIR (Systematic Information Review), the revised voter list will be published by the end of this month. After this, the official announcement of the election process is almost certain.

Election Process Ends Before November

According to reports, the entire process of Bihar assembly elections will be completed before the deadline of November 22. It is being told that the election schedule will be announced after Durga Puja and Dussehra, while the voting dates will be kept after Chhath Puja.

Parties Intensify Election Preparations

Although the official announcement is yet to be made, political parties in the state have started making election strategies. Conferences are being organised continuously by the NDA, while the leaders of the India Alliance are trying to woo the public by taking out 'Voter Rights Yatra'. Recently, the Union Home Minister held a meeting with Bihar BJP leaders in Delhi and discussed the future strategy.

NDA Holds Strong Grip

The NDA currently dominates Bihar’s political landscape with a commanding share. JDU controls around 102 seats, while BJP holds nearly 101. LJP (Ram Vilas) has a presence on about 20 seats. Hindustani Awam Morcha and Rashtriya Lok Morcha together contribute around 20 more. Overall, NDA stands tall with close to 243 seats, signaling absolute dominance.

Grand Alliance Current Status

The INDIA bloc, or Mahagathbandhan, has around 153 seats under its belt. RJD leads the coalition with nearly 75 seats in hand. Congress contributes with around 27 seats to the tally. CPI commands close to 16 seats, while CPI(M) adds 9. Other allies hold about 26 seats, making the alliance a formidable opposition force.

Opposition Questions Voter List

This time the number of voters will be less than in the previous elections. Earlier there were about 8 crore voters, whereas after SIR, lakhs of names have been removed from the voter list. The opposition has questioned this move and called it interference with the rights of voters. However, the Election Commission has clarified that only duplicate names have been removed from the list or the names of those who have died have been deleted.
