National News: Ahead of the Bihar Assembly elections, political activity has intensified within the NDA alliance regarding seat-sharing. Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) national president Chirag Paswan, known as Prime Minister Narendra Modi's close confidante and his "Hanuman," is demanding 45 to 54 seats from the BJP and JDU. No final decision has yet been reached within the alliance, and negotiations are ongoing.
Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav paid tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder of the LJP and Chirag's father, on his death anniversary. In his post, he wrote, "Heartfelt tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan ji, who fought for the rights of the underprivileged and for social justice throughout his life." Political analysts believe this may not only be a tribute but also a strategy to send a message to the LJP regarding the ongoing tussle between the BJP-JDU and the NDA over seat sharing.

On Tuesday, Chirag Paswan held a meeting with BJP leaders Dharmendra Pradhan and Vinod Tawde in Delhi for about fifty minutes. In the meeting, the LJP clarified its seat demands. The party claims it should receive five seats it won in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and a substantial number of seats based on its performance in the 2020 assembly elections. Chirag Paswan specifically demanded that the LJP be given at least two assembly seats in each of the Lok Sabha constituencies it won.
The BJP assured the meeting that their demands would be discussed and answered soon. Sources indicate that the final seat-sharing arrangement for the NDA alliance is expected in the next two to three days. Sources indicate that the BJP and JDU are expected to win approximately 205 seats, while smaller allies like the HAM, RLSP, and LJP are expected to win 38 seats. The LJP is projected to win 25 seats, the HAM seven, and the RLSP six.
Chirag Paswan has stated that if his demands are not met, he is prepared to resign as a Union Minister and may explore an alliance with the Jan Suraj Party if a satisfactory solution is not found within the NDA. In 2020, Chirag Paswan, displeased with the JDU, contested some seats separately from the NDA, causing losses to the alliance. This time too, the tussle over seat sharing appears to be posing a challenge for the NDA.
