Chhath Puja 2025 (X)
New Delhi: Chhath Puja is in full swing in Delhi-NCR, including Bihar. On Monday, thousands of devotees will gather at the artificial ghats for evening Arghya, due to which there is a possibility of heavy traffic on the roads. Delhi Traffic Police has issued a special traffic advisory from 27th October afternoon to 28th October morning. There is a possibility of traffic jams around the major ponds and ghats of East, Central/North, South/Southeast, Northwest/Outer, and West Delhi.
According to Delhi Police, traffic will be affected on MB Road, Kalindi Kunj Khadar Road, Agra Canal Road, and Road No. 13A in the Bhajanpura, Gandhi Nagar, and Khajuri Khas areas. Vehicles will be diverted at Bhajanpura. Shantivan Loop in Gandhi Nagar and Laxmi Nagar to Kailash Nagar Road will remain closed from 5 to 6 pm on October 27 and 5 to 7 am on October 28. Here the traffic will be diverted from the disused Canal Road.
At Khajuri Khas, vehicles going towards Sonia Vihar will be diverted from Nanaksar towards Old Wazirabad Road. Vehicles coming from the Sonia Vihar border will be sent towards Sabhapur village through the MCD toll. A huge crowd is expected at Chath Ghat near DND Yamuna Khadar and Shastri Park. Traffic will move at a slow speed in Geeta Colony, IP Extension, and Shastri Park.

Gautam Buddha Nagar Police has also issued an advisory for October 27-28. Puja will be held at Yamuna (Kalindi Kunj), Hindon River Bridge, Kuleshra, Chotpur, Bahlolpur Sector-63, and Noida Stadium Sector-21A. Heavy and light goods vehicles will be diverted.
Vehicles going from Greater Noida towards Kalindi Border will be diverted from Charkha Roundabout towards Dalit Prerna Sthal. Vehicles coming to Kalindi Kunj from Sector 37 will be sent to Delhi via DND Flyway and Chilla Border. Vehicles coming from Surajpur towards Kuleshra and Phase 2 Noida will be diverted from Chauganpur Roundabout towards Bisrakh.

The traffic condition in Patna on Chhath Puja is very bad. Vehicular movement will be limited on Ashok Rajpath from Kargil Chowk to Didarganj from 12 noon to 7 pm on October 27 and from 2 am to 8 am on October 28. Only Chhath fasts and emergency vehicles are allowed. Ban on JP Setu and Marine Drive also.
Delhi Police has appealed to avoid roadside parking, use public transport (especially the metro), and immediately report any suspicious object/person. Keep an eye on the social media channels of the Delhi Traffic Police for updates. Best wishes to the fasting people!
