Courageous act ends in tragedy: Ghaziabad man shot while intervening in fight between friends

A shocking incident has unfolded in Ghaziabad, where a young man was shot multiple times while trying to resolve a dispute with a friend at a canteen near the Roadways Depot in the Border police station area. The accused fled the scene after the shooting, leaving the victim critically injured.

The victim, identified as Gaurav Sharma, is known for his portrayal of Hanuman in a Jagran party. According to statements from Sunita, his mother from Amar Colony Gokulpuri, Gaurav was having food with his colleague, Aditya Sherwal, in the canteen around 2 AM on Sunday. A scuffle ensued between them, leading to Aditya being assaulted.

Tragic event unfolds

As the situation escalated, Gaurav rushed to Aditya's aid, only to face the barrel of a pistol. The assailant fired multiple shots at Gaurav, causing severe injuries. He was quickly rushed to GTB Hospital in Delhi, where he remains in critical condition, fighting for his life. 

Complaint filed against accused

Sunita has filed a complaint with the police against Nikhil of 30 Foota Road, Panchavati Colony, and two other unidentified individuals. The police have taken swift action, registering a report under sections related to attempted murder and assault.

Police assurance

Ankur Vihar ACP Bhaskar Verma has assured that the police are actively searching for the accused. Police teams are engaged in the search operation, and they are confident of apprehending the culprits soon to ensure justice for Gaurav and his family.
