While on one hand strong storms and rains in Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh are giving relief to the people from the heat, on the other hand, severe heat and heat wave in many parts of Rajasthan and Central India have disrupted life.

Possibility of dust storm and light rain in Delhi-NCR

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), dust storms and thunderstorms may occur in Delhi and NCR due to the effect of Western Disturbance. The mercury is soaring between 44 and 46 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature may remain between 26-28 degrees. Dust storms may affect visibility, so people have been advised to be cautious.

Rain alert with strong winds in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar

Light to moderate rain is expected in cities like Lucknow, Varanasi, Prayagraj and Patna today. Due to the system formed in the Bay of Bengal and local wind pressure, thunderstorms can also be seen in some areas of eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Due to this, there may be a slight drop in temperature, but humidity will remain.

No relief from heat wave in Rajasthan and Central India

The effect of heat wave remains in western areas of Rajasthan like Jaisalmer, Bikaner and Barmer. The maximum temperature is reaching 44 to 46 degrees Celsius. Hot winds are also blowing in Gwalior, Bhopal and Jabalpur of Madhya Pradesh. However, thunderstorms may occur in some areas in the evening, which may provide some relief.

Heavy rains expected in South India and Northeast

Several regions of Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu are experiencing intense pre-monsoon rainfall.Torrential rains continue in Bengaluru, Kochi and Mangalore. Heavy rain warnings have also been issued for the next two days in the northeastern states Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. This may lead to local floods and waterlogging.
