In 1999, the Pakistani army had stealthily occupied the high hills of Kargil, threatening to cut off the vital communication link between Kashmir and Ladakh. But India immediately launched 'Operation Vijay' and defeated Pakistan with its bravery.
The Prime Minister appealed to the countrymen to remember the bravery of the martyrs on this day and appreciate their sacrifice. Kargil Vijay Diwas is not just a day but an important occasion to remind us of the bravery and patriotism of our soldiers.
