National News: The Haryana government has decided to hand over the case of 19-year-old teacher Manisha’s death in Bhiwani to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following protests and public anger. Officials said the move aims to ensure a fair and unbiased investigation.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Wednesday that the state administration is working seriously and transparently to make sure justice is served. He added that he has been closely monitoring updates on the case. “Following the family’s request, the government is referring the matter to the CBI for impartial investigation. The family will get complete justice,” Saini stated on X in Hindi.

What Happened

Manisha, a teacher at a local school, went missing on August 11 after leaving her school to inquire about nursing college admissions. Authorities found her body in a Bhiwani field on August 13.

Initially, the police believed she had taken her own life. Investigators said she had bought poison herself, and traces of it were found in her body. A note, believed to be a suicide note, was also recovered from her bag along with personal documents, including her Aadhaar card. The post-mortem report confirmed the presence of poison but found no evidence of sexual assault.

Family and Public Reaction

Manisha’s father, Sanjay, rejected the claim of suicide and refused to allow her cremation until justice is done. “My daughter could never take her own life. I want the truth,” he said.

Locals expressed their anger by blocking roads in Bhiwani and demanding a proper investigation. To maintain order, the government suspended mobile internet, bulk SMS, and dongle services in Bhiwani and nearby Charkhi Dadri districts for 48 hours starting Tuesday morning.

Political Response

Opposition leaders criticized the state government, accusing it of negligence. Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda said authorities were trying to present the case as suicide without thorough investigation. He called it a failure of law and order.

Next Steps

With the CBI taking charge, authorities hope the investigation will determine whether Manisha’s death was indeed suicide or if foul play was involved. The case has already sparked widespread outrage, and residents of Bhiwani continue to demand justice. The family and local community now await a clear and transparent probe to bring answers and closure.
