Jaish-e-Mohammed: The Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) suffered significant losses during India's Operation Sindoor. It is now attempting to expand its activities in a new way. For the first time, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has announced a women's wing, "Jamat-ul-Mominat," through which it plans to recruit women into terrorism.

Jaish's new strategy on women's participation

The terrorist organization, led by Masood Azhar, had not previously involved women in any armed or terrorist missions. However, on Wednesday, the organization changed its policy and began recruiting a new women's brigade from its center, Markaz Usman-o-Ali, in Bahawalpur.

According to sources, the command of this wing has been handed over to Sadia Azhar, the sister of UN-designated terrorist Masood Azhar. Sadia's husband, Yusuf Azhar, was killed in the attack on Markaz Subhanallah during the Indian Army's Operation Sindoor.

JeM Women Recruitment Drive Exposed

The organization is now recruiting the wives of its slain commanders as well as economically disadvantaged women. The recruitment drive is reportedly being conducted at centers in Bahawalpur, Karachi, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Haripur, and Mansehra. Sources say that Jamaat-ul-Mominat may also deploy female suicide bombers in the future. This decision has been jointly approved by Masood Azhar and his brother Talha al-Saif.

Plans to expand online network in India

According to intelligence sources, this women's wing is also attempting to expand its presence in India. To this end, the organization is building online networks in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh, and South India. Through social media platforms and WhatsApp groups, educated and urban Muslim women are being misled in the name of religious sentiments. Jaish's propaganda materials feature images of Mecca and Medina and attempt to attract women through emotional appeals.

Jaish suffered heavy losses in Operation Sindoor

During Operation Sindoor, Indian security forces targeted the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) headquarters in Bahawalpur, located approximately 100 kilometers (150 miles) inside Pakistan's southern Punjab province. Ten members of Masood Azhar's family and four of his close associates were killed in the attack. It is noteworthy that Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) has been involved in several major terrorist attacks in India, such as the 2001 Parliament attack and the 2019 Pulwama suicide bombing.
