National news: Heavy rains and floods have wreaked havoc in the hilly and plain states, completely disrupting normal life. In view of this serious situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is soon going to visit the most affected states to review the relief work and ensure necessary help. According to sources, the central government is trying to bring the situation under control in collaboration with the states.

Delhi-NCR, Yamuna in spate, waterlogging in sectors

Due to continuous rain in Delhi and its surrounding areas, the Yamuna river is flowing above the danger mark. Areas like Sector-135 and Sector-151 of Noida are flooded with water up to 3-4 feet, due to which people are trapped in their homes. The administration has started relief work, but the situation is still serious.

Schools Shut, Societies Flooded Gurugram

Schools have been closed in Panchkula, Hisar, Rohtak, Jhajjar and other districts of Haryana due to heavy rains. Women and children were trapped in their homes due to waterlogging in Signature Global Salora Society of Gurugram. The administration has started relief and rescue operations as a precaution.

Pond wall collapsed in Ajmer, 1000 houses submerged

More than 1,000 houses were flooded due to the collapse of the wall of Boraj pond in Ajmer district on Thursday night. The strong flow of water also damaged vehicles and houses. People were evacuated safely from the roofs in a rescue operation that lasted all night.

43 deaths so far due to floods in Punjab, lakhs affected

Punjab has been the worst affected by the floods. So far 43 people have died and crops on 1.71 lakh hectares of land have been destroyed. 1,655 villages are affected and more than 3.55 lakh people are in trouble. However, there is no rain alert for the next five days, due to which some relief is expected.

Kashmir, landslide and cloudburst cause havoc

Many routes including Jammu-Srinagar highway have been closed due to heavy rains and landslides in Jammu and Kashmir. 283 houses were damaged due to cloudburst in Ramban district and about 950 people were evacuated to safer places. The water level of Jhelum river has decreased for now, but schools and colleges will remain closed till September 6.

Continuous rain and floods have badly affected life in many parts of the country. It is expected that the visit of Prime Minister Modi will accelerate the relief work and the necessary assistance will be ensured by the central government.
