After the recent floods in Punjab, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced that the state government has launched a major health safety programme and set up medical camps to control the spread of diseases. Official figures show that between September 14 and 16, medical camps in 2,100 villages examined 1,42,395 people, treating thousands for fever, skin infections, diarrhoea, cough and other illnesses.

Daily Health Updates and Awareness Drive

The Chief Minister said the government will share daily health updates at 6 PM to make sure people receive correct and timely information. He asked those who have fever, skin issues, or other symptoms to visit the government medical camps immediately. So far, more than 1,250 relief and health camps have been organised, helping over 1.8 lakh people. Health teams have also been placed at Anganwadi and Aashirwad centres. As part of a special drive, ASHA workers are going door-to-door to inform people about preventive steps. Officials said lakhs of people have already been checked, with families told to keep clean, drink boiled water, and guard against mosquitoes.

Community Efforts and Safety Measures

AAP workers, volunteers, and office bearers are also helping in relief and cleaning efforts. Ministers and MLAs are visiting villages and towns to join the service work. The Chief Minister said, “This is not only the government’s job but also a shared duty of every Punjabi to keep villages, towns, and neighbourhoods free from disease.Health officials warned that once floodwaters go down, the risk of infections and seasonal illnesses increases. To stop this, the state has begun strict monitoring. Special isolation wards have been created in government hospitals, with doctors on duty round the clock. The Chief Minister promised that no person in Punjab will face trouble. He said medical help is reaching every citizen and urged people to contact the nearest medical camps or teams at once if they face any health issue.
