Rohini Acharya Breaks Ties? Unfollows Lalu, Tejashwi and Entire RJD Family on X

India News: RJD chief and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter, Rohini Acharya, has publicly distanced herself from her family and party leaders. In a sign of growing tensions over Tejashwi Yadav’s advisor Sanjay Yadav, Rohini on Sunday unfollowed Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi, Tej Pratap, Misa Bharti and other RJD leaders on X (Twitter). She had been following over a hundred accounts earlier in the week, but after the dispute began on Thursday, that number dropped to 61 and now to just three her husband Samresh Singh, a handle in the name of Rahat Indori, and Singapore’s newspaper The Straits Times.

From Kidney Donation to Political Setbacks

Rohini is the daughter whose donated kidney has given Lalu a second life. She also contested the Lok Sabha election from Saran (Chhapra), but was narrowly defeated by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajiv Pratap Rudy. Living in Singapore with her husband and children, there had been speculation about Rohini contesting assembly elections. On Sunday, Rohini made it clear that she has no intention of going to the assembly or the Rajya Sabha, nor does she want to get anyone a ticket, nor does she desire any post in the event of the party or government being formed. She has said that self-respect is paramount for her.

Longstanding Discontent in Lalu Yadav’s Family Over Sanjay Yadav

There has been long-standing dissatisfaction in Lalu Yadav’s family over Sanjay Yadav. Because Sanjay Yadav is overseeing everything for Tejashwi, the influence and say of other family members in the party have both diminished. Whether it is Misa Bharti, Tej Pratap Yadav or now Rohini Acharya, all have been affected. In a few years, Sanjay has set up such a system that Lalu’s influence on the image of the party and Tejashwi appears minimal. The management of the party, which was built by Lalu and run in his name until now, has thus become a cause of internal conflict within the family.

Family Reactions and Current Concerns

Tej Pratap Yadav, without naming anyone, used to target Sanjay by calling him ‘Jaichand’, but after his affair with Anushka Yadav came out, he was thrown out of the party and family itself. The eldest daughter Misa Bharti has understood the situation and accepted that her place is only in Delhi. Sources say that Rohini has no interest in Delhi and does not want to go to any House through a nominated quota. Through the assembly elections, getting someone else from the Lalu family into a House is at present no challenge for Tejashwi, but if someday further action takes place in corruption cases, the system that might arise is a major concern.
