Samrat Choudhary Takes Oath as Bihar CM, first from the saffron party to hold the post (X)

New Delhi: Samrat Choudhary took the oath of office as the Chief Minister of Bihar, with this he has become the first Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader to hold the post after the resignation of Nitish Kumar. Janata Dal (United) leader Vijay Kumar Choudhary also took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of the state.

Before taking the oath, Samrat Choudhary visited the Hanuman Temple on Bailey Road to seek blessings. He then proceeded to Lok Bhawan and upon arriving there, he first approached former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and sought his blessings.

What happen during the ceremony?

Samrat Choudhary wore a blue nehru jacket over a white kurta-pyjama for the oath ceremony. Governor Lieutenant General Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office and secrecy to him at Lok Bhawan. The ceremony was attended by all NDA MLAs and MLCs from Bihar. Congress MLA Surendra Kushwaha, who abstained from voting in the Rajya Sabha elections, also attended the swearing-in ceremony.
