Chandigarh: Under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s leadership, Punjab has not only changed its government but also completely transformed its education system. For years, there was a wide gap between the education of rich and poor children, but this difference is now being removed. CM Mann aims to make Punjab’s youth skilled and confident so they can create jobs instead of just searching for them. To fulfill this vision, an ‘Education Revolution’ has begun in the state, earning praise from across India. Just like a runway helps planes take off, the ‘Schools of Eminence’ are giving children from poor families a strong base to make their dreams fly high.

Modern Temples of Learning

This change is becoming reality through 118 ‘Schools of Eminence’, which CM Mann proudly calls the ‘temples of the modern age’. These schools are not just made of bricks and cement — they are centers of hope for lakhs of children whose parents could never imagine such quality education. The Punjab government has spent more than Rs 231 crore on these schools to ensure that their standard of education matches that of top private schools.

Equal Opportunities for All

The main goal of this initiative is to make sure that no child, especially girls, is left behind because of lack of money or resources. Students are being given free uniforms, and a free bus service has been started for girls. What makes these schools even more special is that students now get free coaching for tough entrance exams like NEET, JEE, and the Armed Forces — training that usually costs lakhs in private institutes.

Strong Community Support

To make parents and teachers equal partners in this mission, Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) are being held regularly, with around 25 lakh parents taking part. In addition, senior officials are guiding and motivating students through the ‘School Mentorship Program’, helping them aim higher in life.

Success That Speaks for Itself

These efforts are now showing visible success. CM Mann proudly announced that 265 students from government schools cleared JEE Mains and 44 qualified for JEE Advanced. Along with this, 848 students passed the NEET exam — a clear sign that government school students are capable of achieving great results. The popularity of this model is such that even private school students are now shifting to these ‘Schools of Eminence’. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s visionary step ensures that every child in Punjab, regardless of their family’s income, can dream big and achieve success. The state’s future is now being built on the solid base of knowledge and equal opportunity.
