Bihar News: In a shocking case from Patna, Bihar, a woman was sold to a Qatari Sheikh by her husband under the pretense of taking her on a trip. The harrowing incident unfolded when Shahbaz Hasan, the woman's husband, called her to Qatar in 2021. After reaching there, he sold her for ₹10 lakh and returned to India, later divorcing her via triple talaq through the postal service.

Marriage Built on Deception

The victim, married to Shahbaz in 2021, was initially told by his family that he worked as a government employee in the electricity department. However, after her marriage, she discovered that Shahbaz was employed by an NGO. In October 2021, Shahbaz invited her to Qatar, where she stayed with him briefly before her nightmare began.

The Terrifying Sale and Rescue Efforts

According to the victim, she gave birth to a child in Qatar. Soon after, her husband sold her to a Sheikh for ₹10 lakh. Desperate to escape, the woman sought the help of a security guard, who assisted her in contacting the Indian Embassy. Through the embassy’s intervention, she was rescued and safely returned to India.

Legal Action Initiated Against Husband and In-Laws

Upon her return, the woman narrated her ordeal and filed a case against her husband and in-laws at Digha police station. She also alleged that her in-laws refused to accept her or her child. Legal assistance is being provided to the victim through the One Stop Center, which has issued a notice to her in-laws under the Domestic Violence Act. Police are currently investigating the matter.

This case sheds light on the growing concerns surrounding domestic abuse, fraudulent marriages, and human trafficking. Authorities emphasize the importance of prompt reporting and legal action to ensure justice for victims.
