Stalin Predicts Tamil Nadu Government Will Fall in 3 to 6 Months, Asks DMK to Stay Election-Ready (Pinterest)
Chennai: Tamil Nadu politics has been heated up sharply. Former Chief Minister and DMK chief MK Stalin made a bold prediction on Sunday, June 28. He said the TVK government led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay will collapse within three to six months. Fresh assembly elections will follow, he claimed. Stalin made these remarks at a public event and told DMK workers to stay prepared for elections at any time.
Stalin walked the audience through the numbers. Tamil Nadu's assembly has 234 seats. A party needs at least 118 seats to command a majority. TVK won only 106 seats in the recent assembly elections. It fell short of the majority mark. Vijay then stitched together a coalition with Congress and several other parties to form the government. Stalin claimed that TVK is essentially running on the support of former DMK allies. He said it is only a matter of time before that support crumbles. He compared the government to an engine with an uncertain destination and said nobody knows how far it will go.

Stalin did not stop at just numbers. He went after the TVK government on governance as well. He said law and order in Tamil Nadu has completely broken down. Crimes against women and children are rising steadily. The state is also facing a power crisis. Industries are beginning to move out of Tamil Nadu to other states. He said the people of the state are suffering because of this government's failures.
This political slugfest is not new. During the recent assembly session, TVK and DMK clashed sharply on the floor of the house. The war of words between the two parties has been building for a while. Stalin's latest prediction has turned up the heat further and set off a fresh round of political activity across the state.
