Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamiah expressed his astonishment over his wife, Parvati's, decision to surrender all 14 plots allotted to her by the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The CM took to social media platform X to share his feelings, stating that Parvati had endured significant suffering due to what he termed a political conspiracy against him.

Siddharamiah expressed regret for involving his wife in the political turmoil, which he believes subjected her to mental harassment and made her a target of this "political vendetta." He wrote, "My wife, Parvati, has returned the plots of land that were taken without compensation from the land acquired by the MUDA in Mysore. It is well known to the people of the state that opposition parties have fabricated false allegations against me to achieve political vendetta and have dragged my family into controversy."

The Chief Minister emphasized his commitment to fighting against injustice and not backing down, despite the challenges posed by the allegations. "However, my wife, who has suffered due to the political conspiracy directed against me, has taken the decision to return these plots, which has surprised me," he added.

Parvati’s decision to surrender the plots came after the Enforcement Directorate (ED) booked Siddharamiah for money laundering in connection with the alleged MUDA land allotment scam. Following this, she wrote to the MUDA Commissioner offering to surrender the plots.

The backdrop to this incident includes an FIR filed by the Lokayukta Police against Siddharamiah and others related to the alleged land allotment scam. The FIR, filed by the Mysuru Lokayukta, includes various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and stems from a Special Court's order for investigation into the alleged illegal allotment of the plots valued at Rs 56 crore to Parvati.

As the inquiry progresses, the Mysuru Lokayukta has officially commenced investigations into the MUDA land allotment scam, adding another layer of complexity to the ongoing political situation in Karnataka.
