National News: Late on Sunday night in Kashipur, Udham Singh Nagar, a group of people took out a procession on the road without permission, shouting slogans of ‘I Love Mohammad’. When police arrived to stop them, the crowd attacked the officers and also pelted stones at a police 112 vehicle, breaking its windows. Police have taken some people into custody, and an investigation is underway.

Policemen beaten

When the policemen tried to stop the procession, the demonstrators began scuffling with them. The crowd assaulted the policemen. Stones were thrown at the police vehicle. Somehow the policemen reversed the vehicle and fled from there.

Six Held in Custody

Meanwhile the policemen trapped in the crowd also somehow escaped to save their lives. ASP Abhay Pratap Singh reached the spot with a force. About half a dozen people have been taken into custody by the police. The ASP said facts are being collected. Lawlessness will not be tolerated.
