New Delhi: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that maintaining law and order, national security and social harmony is of highest priority. He warned that Uttar Pradesh will not tolerate any illegal activities under any circumstance. During a statewide directive, he instructed all district magistrates to begin immediate identification of illegally residing foreigners. Officials were asked to conduct intensified surveys and data checks. The state aims to prevent any security risk arising from unregistered foreign presence. Government sources said this decision reflects zero-compromise policy on infiltration.
Each district administration has been ordered to prepare detailed lists of foreign nationals living without valid documentation. After identification, strict legal measures will be taken in compliance with national regulations. Authorities will coordinate with police, intelligence and immigration teams. The CM instructed that verification must be completed swiftly and accurately. Officials are required to submit progress reports regularly. Any negligence during this process will be monitored. The directive states that action must be free from bias yet uncompromising towards unlawful residency.
The CM directed that temporary detention centres be created in every district. These will be used to accommodate illegal intruders until the completion of verification procedures. Foreign nationals without proper identity or visa will be held securely. Officials mentioned that these facilities will operate under legal supervision. Once necessary formalities are finished, the detained individuals will be repatriated to their original country. Government officers explained that this precautionary step prevents escape or further unlawful activity. The state emphasises structured handling under due process.
According to officials, the government aims to create a sustainable monitoring system to prevent future unauthorised foreign settlements. Security forces will strengthen border vigilance especially in sensitive regions. The CM stressed on inter-department coordination to ensure consistent enforcement. Awareness campaigns may be launched to encourage locals to report suspicious movement. The state is considering digital tracking for higher accuracy. Authorities believe that strict enforcement today will help maintain long-term internal stability. The leadership intends to enforce rules without disruption of civilian life.
The state shares an open border with Nepal, allowing free movement between citizens of both countries. However, movement of individuals from other nations requires strict checks. Reports suggested that some illegal immigrants may have used the open border route. CM Yogi previously stated during Bihar campaign that intruders would be removed and assets possibly distributed to the poor. The government views the present crackdown as aligned with earlier statements. Increased surveillance at border points is expected. Cooperation with central agencies is likely to be enhanced.
The CM visited Prayagraj to review preparations for the upcoming Magh Mela. He performed Ganga Puja and visited the Hanuman Temple. The CM said he was fortunate to receive the chance to worship and plan the festival after nine months. During the review, he instructed authorities to ensure proper arrangements for devotees. Although the visit was religious, the government confirmed its commitment to law enforcement. The administration assured peaceful conduct of the event. Officers were advised to maintain high operational standards.
The directive highlights the government's firm stance on security and regulated residency. It shows that faith-based activities and cultural responsibilities will continue while ensuring law enforcement remains uncompromised. The CM reiterated that no one taking shelter without legal permission will be spared. Officials believe that public response may support the move as part of wider safety measures. The focus remains on discipline, verification and transparency. Observers say this action reinforces a strong governance image. The state prepares for systematic execution.
