New Delhi/Behror: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has highlighted its commitment to public service by organising voluntary blood donation camps, reinforcing the message that protecting lives extends beyond securing the nation's critical installations. CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan, an Indian Police Service officer, personally donated blood to encourage personnel and strengthen participation in the humanitarian initiative.

The campaign reflects the force's broader approach to service, demonstrating how voluntary contributions can support patients in need of blood during medical treatment and emergencies.

Behror Camp Collects 885 Units of Blood

In 2026, the CISF organised two major voluntary blood donation camps in collaboration with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, collecting a combined total of 1,300 units of blood.

As part of this initiative, a blood donation camp was organised at the CISF's MPRTC facility in Behror a day before the report was issued. The camp received an encouraging response, resulting in the collection of 885 units of blood.

Deputy Inspector General and Medical Director Dr Sahini Tiwari, along with CISF MPRTC Behror Deputy Inspector General Dr Dhananjay Naik, played important roles in supporting the programme. The participation of officers, personnel and other donors contributed to the camp's success.

Why Is Voluntary Blood Donation Important?

Blood donation plays a crucial role in healthcare by helping hospitals meet the needs of patients undergoing treatment. Donated blood can be required for accident victims, people undergoing medical procedures and patients facing various health emergencies.

Voluntary donation camps also help raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation and encourage more people to contribute to healthcare services. Initiatives organised by institutions such as the CISF can help strengthen this culture of community participation and humanitarian support.

CISF Combines National Security with Social Responsibility

The CISF is widely recognised for protecting critical infrastructure and important establishments across the country. Its blood donation initiative highlights another dimension of its public service role by encouraging personnel to contribute to the well-being of society.

Director General Praveer Ranjan's participation also served as an example for other members of the force, underlining the importance of personal involvement in humanitarian activities.

The initiative conveys a broader message that blood donation is a contribution to humanity, with the potential to offer hope to patients and their families during difficult times. Through such efforts, the CISF has reinforced the connection between its duty to protect the nation and its commitment to serving people in need.
