Bengaluru Murder: Man 'Strangles' Live-In Partner After Heated Argument, Arrested (X)
Bengaluru: Bengaluru police have arrested a 27-year-old man accused of murdering his 20-year-old live-in partner to death at their residence in Bengaluru's Malleswaram area.
The victim, who is identified as Anusha, and the accused, Sharath, were both natives of Sakleshpur in Hassan district. The couple had reportedly met through Instagram and had been living together in Malleswaram for the past six months. Police said that the two had an argument over something, leading to an angry argument that led the accused to strangle his girlfriend to death.
The 20-year-old Anusha, a resident of Sakleshpur in Karnataka's Hassan district, met 27-year-old Sharath, also from Sakleshpur, on Instagram. Gradually, this acquaintance blossomed into love, and the two decided to live together. They rented a house in Bengaluru's Malleswaram area and began a live-in relationship. Sharad was a water tanker driver.
Police said the two had an argument on Saturday night. The argument escalated into a fight, and in a fit of rage, Sharath strangled Anusha to death. The accused then locked the house and fled from the scene. The accused called a lawyer friend and informed him about the incident, who then informed the police. Police arrived at the scene and recovered the girl's body. Police subsequently arrested the accused. The exact motive behind the murder remains unknown, and the accused is currently being questioned.
