Punjab On Alert After Massive Blasts Outside BSF Headquarters Within Three Hours

Amritsar: Two blasts in Jalandhar and Amritsar of Punjab on Tuesday night increased the concern of security agencies. In both the places the target was BSF headquarters. The only thing of relief is that no one died, but what happened was enough to give sleepless nights to the security agencies.

How did the Scooty explode in Jalandhar?

It was around 8:15 in the evening. A scooter parked outside the BSF headquarters in Jalandhar suddenly flew away with a loud bang. The explosion was so powerful that the ears of people standing nearby became numb and the sound traveled far and wide.

Whose scooter was it and why was it standing there?

That scooter belonged to 22 year old Gurpreet Singh, who is a resident of Gadha area of ​​Jalandhar. Works for delivery in Flipkart. That day he had come to BSF headquarters to deliver a parcel. He was not allowed inside because he did not have a helmet, so he parked his scooter outside and started waiting. And then it all happened.

Gurpreet's father Kashmira Singh, who himself is retired from BSF, told something which gives goosebumps. Gurpreet had called them before the blast and told that he had seen a suspicious young man keeping something near the Activa. But before anyone could understand anything – there was an explosion.

What happened in Amritsar?

Just two and a half hours after the Jalandhar blast, another massive explosion took place outside the BSF headquarters in Khasa area of Amritsar. The Khasa area is very close to the India-Pakistan border, which makes this incident even more serious.

Initial investigation revealed that two masked youths riding a bike threw something towards the BSF premises and ran away. The blast damaged a wall and a tin shed. Police believe that it could have been a grenade attack.
