In another distressing incident, a young girl faced a dog attack within the confines of a luxury housing society in Noida. The event unfolded inside the lift of Lotus 300, adding to the growing concerns over pet safety and management within such communities. The entire ordeal was captured by a closed-circuit camera installed within the lift. The footage reveals the girl standing innocently in the lift, only to be startled as the doors open on a particular floor. A brown pet dog rushed towards the girl to bite. She was alone in the lift when the canine pounced.

A man, likely the owner of the dog, hurriedly enters the lift and manages to coerce the pet out, preventing further harm to the minor. The distressing scene concludes with the lift doors closing, leaving the girl visibly injured and in pain, clutching her arm.

Where did it happen?

This unsettling incident occurred within the premises of the Lotus 300 society, located in Sector 107 of Noida. Despite transpiring on May 3, the footage only surfaced on Tuesday, gaining traction across various social media platforms.

A string of incidents

This occurrence follows closely on the heels of another harrowing event where a five-year-old girl suffered severe injuries in Chennai after being attacked by two Rottweiler dogs in a park. The repeated incidents highlight a pressing need for enhanced pet safety measures within residential areas.

Government response

The timing of this incident is important as it comes amidst discussions spurred by the Central government's recent recommendation to ban certain dog breeds, including Rottweilers, Pitbulls, American Bulldogs, and others deemed potentially hazardous. This move stems from a surge in severe and, in some cases, fatal attacks attributed to these breeds. The alarming frequency of dog attacks within residential settings has prompted the urgent necessity for stricter pet regulations and heightened awareness regarding responsible pet ownership.
