In the capital Delhi, a 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder will be available for Rs 942 as before. There has been no change in its price. But there has been a big reduction in the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder. Its price has been reduced by Rs 183.50. Now commercial cylinder will be available in Delhi for Rs 2,930 instead of Rs 3,113.50. This reduction is a big relief for hotels, dhabas and small shopkeepers.
Commercial cylinders have become cheaper in other big cities of the country also. Domestic cylinder rates remain the same.
The most expensive domestic cylinder in Patna is Rs 1,031.50, while the cheapest one is available in Chennai at Rs 913.
Since the beginning of this year, the prices of commercial cylinders have been continuously going up and down. The prices were increased in January and February 2026. There was also an increase in March and April. Commercial cylinders became costlier in May and June also. After increasing for 6 consecutive months, there has been a big decline for the first time in July. This reduction of Rs 183.50 is the biggest relief so far in 2026.
This time domestic customers have not got any relief. The rate of domestic cylinders remains at Rs 942 only. Earlier in March 2026, domestic cylinders had become costlier by Rs 60. Then in June it was increased by Rs 29 more. After two increases, the rates are now stable.
Hotels, restaurants, confectioners, tea shops and small food businessmen will directly benefit from the cheaper commercial cylinders. Their monthly expenses will be less. However, the price of 14.2 kg cylinder used for cooking in common households has not decreased. Domestic customers will have to wait for the next cut. Oil companies decide the price every month according to the rates of crude oil and gas in the international market.
