In a big step to improve the health and comfort of soldiers posted in high-altitude Himalayan regions, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) has signed an important agreement with the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology. Gokhale, Secretary of DBT, and Shri Rahul Rasgotra, Director General of ITBP, along with other senior officials from both sides.

Focus on Health and Support in Extreme Weather

As part of this partnership, several key actions will be taken, such as finding ways to treat health problems caused by high altitudes and low oxygen levels. This will help jawans who face tough conditions every day.

Better Medical Services in Remote Areas

The plan also includes using telemedicine and mobile medical units to reach soldiers stationed in faraway border areas. These services will allow quicker medical help and proper health checks.

Support Through Better Nutrition and Training

The project also aims to develop special food items and warm gear to help jawans stay healthy in freezing weather. Medical staff from ITBP will also be trained in the latest biotech tools and methods to improve healthcare delivery.
