Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif Reacts to PM Modi's Post: After PM Narendra Modi's congratulatory message to team India after their outstanding performance in the Asia Cup 2025 finals, several controversial remarks surfaced from the prominent Pakistani leaders. The latest one among them is Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif's statement.

PM Modi's Operation Sindoor Remark

It is to be noted that PM Modi in his X post likened India-Pakistan final to Operation Sindoor. He took to his X and congratulated the Indian team for their stunning performance in India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 finals. In his X post, PM Modi, wrote, ''#OperationSindoor on the games field. Outcome is the same - India wins! Congrats to our cricketers.''

And now Pakistan Defence Minister stated that although India won the Asia Cup by defeating Pakistan by five wickets, the "Pakistan-India war score was 6-0".

Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif's Reaction

Khawaja Asif reacting to PM Modi's X post, wrote, “By destroying the culture and spirit of cricket, Modi is undermining the prospects of peace and conflict resolution in the subcontinent just to save his politics. This is not how peace and respect are restored. The Pakistan-India war score was 6/0. We are saying nothing — Modi has been disgraced both in India and globally.”

It is to be noted that India on September 28 won its ninth Asia Cup after defeating Pakistan by five wickets at the final match, which was held at the Dubai International Stadium. 

About Operation Sindoor

After the Pahalgam terror attack, India army launched "Operation Sindoor," to target terrorists and terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. 

Asif's remark is in connection with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif earlier claim at the UN General Assembly that the Pakistani army shot down 7 Indian Air Force jets during a four-day conflict. Later, Pakistan's Defence Minister claimed that that six Indian jets were downed. 

After their victory in the Asia Cup 2025 finals, Indian team refused to refused to accept the winners' trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman and Pakistan minister Mohsin Naqvi.
