Anant Ambani’s Trainer Explains Why Beginners Fail at the Gym (Image Source: Social Media )
Anant Ambani’s fitness coach Vinod Channa, known for training stars like John Abraham, Hrithik Roshan and the Ambani family, recently spoke about the common mistakes new gym-goers make. Speaking on a podcast on September 17, he explained why so many people fail to stay regular with their fitness journey.
Vinod said there are many reasons why beginners leave the gym so soon. “Most people see celebrities and want to look like them. But they don’t realise that stars build their bodies over years of steady effort. For a film, they work hard for three to four months with strict food plans, workouts, dance practice, action training and sometimes 12-hour shoots,” he explained. He also pointed out that comparing yourself to others is another problem. “If Hrithik builds a new body, Salman or John may also aim for a different look to show their best. But newcomers compare themselves to these stars from day one. They hope to reach that level in just two or three months. When they don’t get quick results, they leave,” Vinod said.
He added that bad food habits and skipping recovery are big mistakes. “Many new gym-goers copy hard workouts that celebrities do after six to twelve months of preparation. Their bodies aren’t ready for it. They end up with pain, soreness or even fever from pushing too hard. Then they feel like fitness is not for them and quit,” he explained. Vinod stressed that patience and good guidance are key. “What people really need is awareness, knowledge and a trainer who builds their program step by step. Even on YouTube, you must check if the trainer is beginner, intermediate or advanced. If you follow a beginner who is doing things wrong, you’ll copy the same mistakes,” he said.
