Special Diet Tips for Navratri Fasting (Social Media)
Lifestyle News: Sharadiya Navratri 2025 has begun across the country. This nine-day festival is known for worshipping the nine forms of the goddess and fasting. Some people fast for the entire nine days, some only on the first and last day, while others eat only once a day.
Fasting symbolizes spiritual and physical purification. However, prolonged fasting can lead to problems like fatigue, weakness, and dizziness. Therefore, it is extremely important to follow a proper diet during this time.
It is necessary to keep the body hydrated during the fast. Drink at least 3-4 liters of water throughout the day. Coconut water, lemonade, buttermilk, and fresh fruit juice will also help. This will not lack water to the body and will not feel weakness.
If you eat only once a day, the blood sugar level can fall. Therefore, it is necessary to eat some light food every 2-3 hours. You can take fruits, nuts, sago chips, or a glass of milk. This will keep the body's energy constant.
Fruitarians should include essential nutrients in their diet. Almonds, walnuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds, and fruits like bananas, apples, and pears will provide energy and essential vitamins.
Taking rock salt in the day is beneficial. During the day, the body needs more energy and sodium. It helps in maintaining mental and physical balance.
The stomach becomes sensitive after nine days of fasting. While breaking the fast, first take coconut water, buttermilk, or fruit juice. Then eat light food like fruits, curd, or vegetable soup. Avoid heavy and fried things.
On the day of Navami, keep restraint in Prasad like Puri, Halwa, or Chana. Eating more can cause stomach upset. Eat light food after offerings and start normal food the next day.
