National News: In Bihar’s political battlefield, Tejashwi Yadav has played a major card by breaking three influential names away from Nitish Kumar’s JDU. Former MP Santosh Kushwaha, ex-MLA Rahul Sharma and MP Girdhari Yadav’s son Chanakya Prakash Ranjan officially joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal. This sudden move has not only created a storm in state politics but also highlighted Tejashwi’s strategy of building a strong caste base before the elections. Leaders who were once pillars of JDU are now becoming faces of RJD, shifting the balance of electoral calculations.

Santosh Kushwaha eyes Dhamdaha seat

Former MP Santosh Kushwaha, who commands a strong presence among the Kushwaha community, is likely to contest the Dhamdaha seat against JDU’s Lacey Singh. His switch was triggered by dissatisfaction inside JDU and the neglect he reportedly faced. By joining RJD, Kushwaha has not only given Tejashwi a credible face in the region but also weakened JDU’s traditional support base. This battle is expected to be closely watched because the seat carries symbolic weight for both parties.

Rahul Sharma brings Magadh influence

Ex-MLA Rahul Sharma, with his political family background, adds significant influence in Magadh. His father Jagdish Sharma held the Ghosi constituency for decades and even became an MP. His mother Shanti Sharma and he himself have both represented Ghosi in the assembly. Their old ties with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav make Rahul’s entry into RJD a natural political comeback. With his presence, RJD’s penetration into Magadh gets sharper and could create trouble for JDU.

Chanakya Ranjan joins new camp

The inclusion of Chanakya Prakash Ranjan, son of JDU MP Girdhari Yadav, reflects the generational shift taking place in Bihar politics. While his father remains in JDU, the son has chosen RJD, signaling cracks inside families aligned with Nitish Kumar. For Tejashwi, this move sends a message that young political heirs are looking at him as the future. This change in loyalty creates pressure on JDU leadership and may influence other second-generation leaders.

RJD targeting Kushwaha community

It is clear that Tejashwi Yadav is strategically reaching out to the Kushwaha community. After inducting Santosh Kushwaha, the party is also eyeing Ajay Kushwaha, who may contest from Vaishali. RJD knows that bringing together influential leaders of this community can consolidate votes across multiple constituencies. This community outreach could play a decisive role in forming the next government. Nitish’s neglect of caste-based dissatisfaction seems to have created a political opening for RJD.

Seat sharing still unresolved

As alliances prepare for the Bihar election, seat-sharing talks between NDA and Mahagathbandhan remain unresolved. With leaders switching camps, both sides are forced to redraw their strategies. The defection of key JDU leaders has created uncertainty in constituency-level negotiations. RJD’s aggressive poaching could tilt the balance of power in favor of Mahagathbandhan, leaving Nitish Kumar with fewer strong candidates to bank upon. The seat deals are now more complex than ever.

Big blow ahead of elections

These defections come as a major embarrassment for Nitish Kumar’s JDU just months before elections. Tejashwi Yadav has not only managed to weaken his opponent but also strengthen his party with influential names. The political atmosphere in Bihar is now heating up rapidly, with every move being seen as a test of strategy. For voters, the coming months will bring an intense contest where party loyalty, caste equations and leadership skills will determine the future of Bihar’s politics.
