Patna: The second phase of the Bihar Assembly election is considered very important, as the results from these constituencies will help shape the state’s new government. A total of 122 seats will vote in this phase, and each seat has a large number of voters. The Election Commission wants to ensure that every citizen can vote without fear. Political parties have increased their campaigning in the final hours, trying to convince voters. People in both rural and urban areas are preparing to cast their ballots. The atmosphere is serious, responsible, and focused on smooth voting.
How many booths will operate?
For this phase, 45,399 polling stations have been set up across the state to handle the large voter turnout. Out of these, 40,073 booths are located in rural regions where the population is more scattered. Due to this high number of booths, planning and coordination has been a major task for officials. Polling officers, support staff, and help desks are placed at each booth for voter assistance. Voters have been encouraged to bring valid identity documents while voting. Many booths also have arrangements for drinking water and shade. The aim is to make voting easy, safe, and comfortable for everyone.
What are the security arrangements?
More than four lakh security personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order during polling. This includes 1,500 companies of the Central Armed Police Forces, along with a large number of state police. Additional home guards and village-level watch personnel have also been included to strengthen ground security. The idea is to create a safe environment so that voters do not feel threatened or pressured. Sensitive locations have been identified and are receiving extra patrolling. Quick response teams are also placed to handle emergencies. The overall approach is strict, vigilant, and highly coordinated.
Drone surveillance and monitoring
Drone cameras will monitor several areas from the air to ensure no illegal activities or disturbances occur. Webcasting has also been arranged at many booths so that election supervisors can watch the process in real time. Micro-observers will be present at important booths to report any irregularities instantly. Flying squads and patrolling units will move continuously to prevent intimidation or vote buying. The Election Commission has set up control rooms to respond to any complaint quickly. These measures show the seriousness of maintaining clean elections. The administration wants voting to happen with transparency and responsibility.
Movement and crowd control
Security teams are paying special attention to the movement of vehicles near polling stations. Checkposts have been installed at district and state borders to stop illegal transportation of money or liquor. Local police have been conducting awareness drives to encourage peaceful participation. Public announcements have been made to remind people about voting procedures. Senior citizens and differently-abled voters will be assisted at polling booths. Election officials have appealed to citizens to remain patient if queues are long. Everyone is being encouraged to vote early to avoid crowds later in the day.
What is the impact of the first-phase turnout?
In the first phase of the election, more than 65 percent of eligible voters cast their votes. This is considered one of the highest voting percentages in recent years. It reflects the strong interest people have in shaping the future of Bihar. Encouraged by this response, the Election Commission expects a similar or even higher turnout in the second phase. Leaders from different parties have appealed to people to vote calmly and responsibly. Citizens have shown that they want change through democratic participation. The successful turnout has increased expectations from the final phase.
Focus now shifts to results
Once polling ends, Electronic Voting Machines will be securely stored under heavy protection. Counting of votes will take place on the scheduled date under proper supervision. Political discussions and calculations will intensify as parties wait for the final outcome. The people of Bihar will soon know who will form the next government. Until then, the focus remains on ensuring peaceful and fair voting. Every vote will contribute to the state’s future direction. The election process highlights the importance of democracy in everyday life.
