Delhi Congress releases third candidate list for upcoming assembly elections

The Congress Party has announced its third list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, featuring 16 names. This move signals the party's focused strategy to strengthen its foothold in the capital ahead of the crucial polls. Notable candidates on this list include Krishna Tirath, who will contest from Patel Nagar, and Ariba Khan, who has been given the ticket for the Okhla constituency. Mange Ram has been named the party’s candidate for Palam.

Candidate details

Congress Party has strategically chosen candidates to maximize its chances of winning and to secure a strong position in Delhi. Dharam Pal Lakra will represent the Mundka constituency, while Rajesh Gupta will contest from Kirari. Kunwar Karan Singh has been fielded from Model Town, and Krishna Tirath will contest from Patel Nagar.

In West Delhi constituencies, the party has nominated Prem Sharma from Hari Nagar, Harbani Kaur from Janakpuri, and Jitendra Solanki from Vikaspuri. In South and Southwest Delhi, Sushma Yadav will run from Najafgarh, Mange Ram from Palam, and Visesh Tokas from RK Puram.

Fresh faces and strategic picks

The Congress has also introduced several fresh faces, including Ariba Khan in Okhla, Rajiv Chaudhary in Vishwas Nagar, and Kamal Arora in Gandhi Nagar. Veteran leaders have been entrusted with key constituencies, such as Jagat Singh in Shahdara, Bhishm Sharma in Ghonda, and Ishwar Bagri in the reserved seat of Gokalpur (SC).
