Regarding the violence that started on February 8 during an anti-encroachment drive in Haldwani's Banbhoolpura area, authorities have issued three FIRs against 19 recognized persons and 5,000 unnamed people. Of those, five have been arrested and 19 have been named.
A curfew was put in place in the area after the anti-encroachment effort on Thursday, which resulted in five deaths in the ensuing fighting.
Police emphasized that there was no new violence and that the situation was under control after the three FIRs were filed on Friday.

Police also said that they have initiated the investigation and searches have begun and miscreants have been identified.
Meanwhile, the security has been beefed up in the violence-hit area after clashes erupted on Thursday night following the anti-encroachment drive.
Pushkar Singh Dhami, the chief minister of Uttarakhand has condemned the attack on police personnel, including women officers.
Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary has instructed the District Magistrate of Nainital and the Senior Superintendent of Police to maintain constant vigil on the situation.
