India Weather Today: Heavy Rain Alert in Delhi-NCR in the next few hours (Twitter)
India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning on Friday for Delhi-NCR. As per the report, heavy rains are expected in Faridabad, Gurugram, Jhajjar, Karnal, Nuh, Palwal, Panipat and Sonipat in the next three hours. Residents can expect moderate rains for the last few days, traffic jams etc, due to waterlogging etc. As per IMD, 48 percent more rain than normal has been recorded in the last one week.
Due to the heavy rainfall, the water level of Yamuna river is continously rising. While the heavy rains are creating problems for the people in their daily routine, the waterlogging has disrupted the traffic in many cities.
As per the reports, the monsoon in Haryana till August was 24.1 per cent above normal, with heavy rainfall in most districts. Heavy rainfall was recorded in a 24-hour period on Tuesday, with Gurugram (140 mm), Jhajjar (120 mm) and Palwal (100 mm) receiving heavy rainfall.
Faridabad: 482.7 mm rainfall was recorded till August (6 per cent more than the normal 455.2 mm). August alone received 275 mm rainfall, which is 31 per cent more than the normal 210.4 mm.
Gurugram: 514.5 mm rainfall recorded till August (25 per cent more than the normal 410.5 mm). 230.2 mm rainfall was recorded in August, which is 24 per cent more than the normal 185.1 mm. Last Tuesday, 140 mm was recorded in 24 hours.
Jhajjar: 563.4 mm rainfall recorded till August (79 per cent more than the normal 314.3 mm). August received 239.1 mm rainfall, which is 74 per cent more. On September 2, Beri recorded 120 mm.
Karnal: 382.5 mm rainfall recorded till August (11 per cent less than the normal of 428.5 mm). Rainfall in August was below normal, with only 13.2 mm recorded in 24 hours on July 31.
Nuh: 625.9 mm rainfall recorded till August (59 per cent more than the normal of 393 mm). July recorded 26.8 mm, monthly total being 329.2 mm.
Palwal: 427.3 mm rainfall was recorded till August (31 per cent more than the normal 326.6 mm). In August, 135.4 mm rainfall was recorded, which is 13 per cent less. 100 mm was recorded on September 2.
Panipat: 496.2 mm rainfall recorded till August (35 per cent more than normal 367.1 mm). August received 271.9 mm rainfall, which is 72 per cent more. July 31 recorded 29.6 mm, monthly total was 155.4 mm.
Sonipat: 445.9 mm rainfall recorded till August (15 per cent more than the normal 387.2 mm).
