Chennai: The Election Commission has come out with the final electoral roll for Tamil Nadu following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in the state. According to the revised list Tamil Nadu now has 5,67,07,380 voters ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections. Over 42,000 names were dropped from the electoral list after SIR exercise.
The final voter list in Tamil Nadu has seen an increase of 23,30,624 voters compared to the draft list. The latest final voter list in the state has 56,707,380 voters. Of these, 27,738,925 are men, 28,960,838 are women, and 7,617 are third gender voters.
The number of voters in the 18-19 age group in this list is 125,100. The number of voters identified as persons with disabilities is 46,300,000. The number of senior citizen voters (85+) in the state is 39,990,000. During the period for filing claims and objections for inclusion or deletion of names in the draft electoral roll in the state from December 19, 2025, to January 30, 2026, 27.53 lakh eligible voters were added and 4.23 lakh ineligible voters were removed.
The final electoral roll containing the list of eligible voters was published on February 23, 2026. As of October 27, 2025, 6,41,14,587 voters were registered in the electoral roll. After the completion of the counting phase under the Special Intensive Revision 2026, the draft electoral roll was published on December 19, 2025, showing a total number of voters of 5,43,76,756.
As per the Election Commission's directive, a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls was conducted in the state of Tamil Nadu from October 27, 2025, to February 23, 2026, with January 1, 2026 as the eligibility date. The final electoral roll has been published today, February 23, 2026.
According to the final electoral roll, the Assembly constituency with the highest number of voters is the 27-Shozhinganallur Assembly Constituency in Chengalpattu district, with 536,991 voters (male: 262,621; female: 274,254; third gender: 116). This is followed by the 6-Avadi Assembly Constituency in Tiruvallur district, with 428,772 voters (male: 209,662; female: 219,035; third gender: 75). The 18-Harbour Assembly constituency in Chennai district has the lowest number of voters, at 116,896 (male: 58,221; female: 58,620; third gender: 55). The second lowest number of voters is in the 16-Egmore (Scheduled Caste) Assembly constituency in Chennai district, with 134,879 voters (male: 65,677; female: 69,149; third gender: 53).

The final voter list is available on the CEO's website https://elections.tn.gov.in. Voters can check their names by visiting this website. An appeal against the decision of the Public Registration Officer can be filed before the District Magistrate within 15 days, as per Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 and Rule 27 of the Registration of Voters Rules, 1960. If dissatisfied with the decision of the first appeal, a second appeal can be preferred before the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days of the order of the District Magistrate as per Section 24(b) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 and Rule 27 of the Registration of Voters Rules, 1960.
