In today’s increasingly digital world, online fraudsters are thriving, capitalizing on the anonymity and convenience the internet provides. One individual, operating under the name NANO BAITER, recently took to social media to expose an internet scammer based in Delhi, known as Sushil Chauhan. This scammer has been active since November 2023 and has allegedly targeted thousands of people.
NANO BAITER shared a series of tweets detailing how the scam unfolded. It all began when a Microsoft scam popup appeared on his laptop screen, blocking his mouse and keyboard. The popup included a toll-free number and a warning sound, claiming his computer had been compromised.
Despite the ominous warning, NANO BAITER advises not to call such numbers. When he did call, he described the experience as chaotic, with loud background noise, as if multiple people were involved. The person on the other end introduced himself as a certified Microsoft technician, claiming that a Trojan virus had attacked his computer. To resolve the issue, the technician asked to remotely access NANO BAITER’s computer and connect it to a secure server.
As the technician led NANO BAITER through the process, attempting to deceive him, NANO BAITER silently gained control of the scammer’s computer. With access to the scammer's system, he found it easy to infiltrate other computers in the operation. Eventually, he gained access to Sushil Chauhan's computer, revealing a wealth of sensitive information.
On Sushil’s computer, NANO BAITER discovered Stripe and PayPal login details, which were used for scamming people. He also uncovered files containing personal documents such as ID cards, salary slips, company registrations, and bank statements. Additionally, NANO BAITER managed to download images from Sushil’s cloud server.
As the scammers realized their operation was being compromised, they became increasingly paranoid. According to NANO BAITER, the scammers began to panic when they suspected they were being monitored. This revelation not only exposed a major fraud operation but also highlighted the dangers of internet scams targeting unsuspecting individuals.
