Daughters’ Dreams Honoured, Youth Given a Message of National Unity (Pankaj Rai)

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta delivered a message of women’s empowerment and national unity through two separate programmes on Wednesday. At the Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan, she presented cheques of ₹1 lakh each and Karwa Chauth gift kits to 51 newlywed women celebrating their first Karwa Chauth. At the Delhi Secretariat, she interacted with an 84-member youth delegation from Tamil Nadu visiting the capital under the ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ initiative, encouraging young people to contribute to national unity and development.

Financial Support for Daughters on Karwa Chauth

The Ladli Foundation organised a mass wedding ceremony for the 51 women in March. To make their first Karwa Chauth special, the Chief Minister presented them with financial assistance and gifts.

Congratulating the women, Gupta wished them a happy and prosperous married life. During an interaction, she said she stood by every daughter of Delhi as an elder sister. She encouraged them to speak openly about their problems rather than feel anxious in difficult situations.

The Chief Minister also urged the women to pursue their dreams with confidence, establish their own identities and become financially independent.

Youth Exchange to Strengthen National Unity

At the second programme, the Chief Minister welcomed students and teachers from Tamil Nadu. She described ‘Yuva Sangam’ as an excellent example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’.

She said such initiatives give young people an opportunity to understand the cultures, traditions and development journeys of different states.

Gupta invited the students to explore Delhi’s Metro network, electric buses, modern transport infrastructure and the new electric vehicle policy, as well as visit the capital’s historical and cultural landmarks.

The 84-member delegation from the Central University of Tamil Nadu is visiting Delhi from October 26 to November 1. The Chief Minister encouraged the young participants to share their experiences and contribute to strengthening national unity and the vision of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
