Ajit Pawar's New Worth: Maharashtra Deputy CM Had Assets Worth Rs 124 Crore, Says Reports (X)

Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, who died on Wednesday in plane crash accident in Baramati airport, had total net worth of about 124 crore.

What is the financial details of Pawar?

As per his election affidavit submitted to the Election Commission during the 2024 Vidhan Sabha elections, Pawar had declared total assets worth Rs 125 crore, according to Times Now. 

Pawar had declared movable assets worth Rs 8.22 crore and immovable assets valued at Rs 37.15 crore, comprising land and residential properties spread across Maharashtra. 

The declared assets of Pawar also include vehicles such as a Toyota Camry and Honda CRV, agricultural equipment, fixed deposits, shares, bonds and silver articles.

According to the findings the affidavit also lists Pawar’s immovable properties, which include a flat measuring over 2,000 square feet in Mumbai and land parcels in Mulshi and Baramati in Pune district. 

And the 66-year-old leaders liabilities stand at over Rs 21 crore, according to earlier declarations.

The Nationalist Congress Party leader's wife, Sunetra Pawar, had movable assets worth Rs 14.57 crore and immovable assets of Rs 58.39 crore and additionally owned an LIC policy exceeding Rs 44 lakh.

The affidavit also revealed that six-time deputy chief minister held Rs 14.12 lakh in cash, Rs 6.81 crore in bank accounts, over Rs 55 lakh in investments, and an LIC policy worth over Rs 1 crore. 

How did the accident happen?

The aircraft, a Learjet 45, which took off from Mumbai at around 8 am, crashed while attempting an emergency landing at Baramati airport. 

Who was on board?

According to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) statement, the 66-year-old leader was onboard along with two personnel, one PSO and one attendant, and two crew members, the Pilot-in-Command (PIC) and the First Officer (FO).

"As per initial information, no person on board has survived the crash," DGCA said.

What is the reason for the plane crash?

The DGCA and the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) will investigate the reason behind the plane crash.
