Har Ghar Tiranga: Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat appealed to the countrymen to participate in the fourth edition of Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan with full enthusiasm. He said that it is our responsibility to maintain the honor and sanctity of the national flag at all times. He clarified that the decorum associated with the tricolor and following the National Flag Code is an important part of this campaign.
At a press conference held in Delhi, Shekhawat was questioned about the incidents in which the dignity of the tricolor was compromised or the flag code was violated during or after the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. To this, he said, "Some incidents do happen... but we try our best. Earlier too, we have tried to educate people and give the message that the respect and sanctity of the tricolor should be maintained."
Union Culture Secretary Vivek Aggarwal said that maintaining the dignity of the national flag is an integral part of the campaign. He said, "Along with hoisting the flag, we also make people aware about following the National Flag Code; as the Honorable Minister said, the respect and sanctity of the national flag should be maintained."
More than 5 lakh youth have registered as volunteers for this year's campaign. These people will inspire people to hoist the tricolor at every home, office, market, shop, and other place and upload selfies with the tricolor.
Under the campaign, thematic lighting of monuments started on August 2. Projection mapping facility is available at 140 monuments and sites. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has shared pictures of historical heritage sites like Konark Sun Temple (Odisha), Chandragiri Fort (Andhra Pradesh), Gunavati Group of Temples (Tripura), and Agra Fort decorated in a tricolor theme on X.
Before the press conference, a video of the campaign was shown, which had pictures of Indian Air Force aircraft, Colonel Sofia Qureshi, and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh. Both of them were involved as prominent faces in the media briefing of Operation Sindoor. Vivek Aggarwal said that students of schools are sending rakhis and letters to the soldiers in honor of Operation Sindoor.
From August 12 to 14, a series of patriotic events will be organized to mark the Har Ghar Tiranga spirit.
