It is noteworthy that in January of last year, while hearing a petition, the Delhi High Court directed the Election Commission to consider a plea raising concerns regarding alleged duplicate entries in the national capital's voter list. The Court instructed the Commission to utilize technology to eliminate such duplications. The petitioner had argued that by the time the Commission deliberated on amending the voter list, the Assembly elections in Delhi would likely have already concluded. In response, the Court observed that there is a specific, established procedure for amending the voter list, and that such a process cannot be initiated arbitrarily at any given moment.
